This rifle is the centerfire variant and does not use a percussion cap!

Engraving:

Remains of original colour hardening, 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co 1868', 'WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT' in reference to British patent No. 688 of 1866 related to a means of modifying the previous Westley Richards percussion system into a centerfire system.

Barrel:

59cm, excellent barrel with sharp lands and grooves, Engraving: 'WITHWOTH PATENT. C & J. FAVRE BRANDT', Fixed front and rear sight: 50 Yards, two butterfly sights: 100 and 200 Yards, as well as a ladder rear sight up to 850 Yards.

Stock:

Grained walnut, stock length 36 cm, colour-hardened metal butt plate (hinged compartment, contains original cleaning kit!), pistol grip with metal finial, fully stocked.

Annotations:

Excellent original condition, with original leather sling!, presumably unshot, woodwork and chequering in impeccable original condition. Barrel and rifling in mint condition.
